Program Description
Friends of the Selby Public Library invites you to their monthly book presentation and discussion. This month: Charlotte Thompson, Librarian and popular leader of Selby’s Cirque D'Book will present the enticing story of Marie Curie, Obsessive Genius-The Inner World of Marie Curie. This is a peek behind the myth, gathered through private letters between Marie and her daughters. Prepare to be intrigued by such facts as the night light next to Marie’s bed was a sample of radium. We will learn about the denial for a University position because she was a woman and we will learn that hospitals had no idea that radium might be useful.
