The Socrates Cafe is a discussion group in which everyone is welcome! Feel free to join in and propose topics that interest you. We vote on the topic and then take turns offering viewpoints and questions.

Do you need access to a sewing machine for practice? Or do you need help with a sewing or mending project? This is an open lab for adults with sewing machine experience. 

Homeschool Meetup

Homeschool families are invited to stop by to enjoy crafts and games with other homeschool families.

The Health in Motion Bus offers free and low-cost public health services. A registered nurse is available at all visits. Individuals who need follow-up medical care are referred to a primary health care provider. No appointment needed.

A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to help people learn practical strategies to manage falls and increase physical activity levels. 

Participants will learn:

Monk San will lead a peaceful meditation at the Venice Library. No previous experiences or materials required. Participants may bring their own meditation cushion if desired, but chairs will be available. Bring a jacket - the room gets cold!

Self-care and maintenance will be enhanced through meditation, guided imagery and breathing techniques.

Learn how to make a beautiful water lily out of cardstock and a paper plate.

Children are invited for a special opportunity to share a story with a furry friend! Take advantage of this no-pressure, judgment-free zone to practice reading with a certified therapy dog.  Space is limited. First come, first seated.

Unwind and get fit with this beginner-friendly guided yoga class for teens and tweens! Join us for an hour-long lesson and learn basic yoga and breathing exercises that can be used in your everyday life. Registration required.

Make awesome jewlery with a favorite household item!

Artist Shelly Augsbury will demonstrate teens in sculpting and painting their own kitty cat phone holders made entirely from air-dry clay!
