As part of North Port Library's Healthy Living Program, Yoga Gentle Stretching and Flexibility with Meditation is designed for every body type and ability, to support healthy living lifestyles, and to ease students into the benefits of meditation.  Yoga is a great way to learn how to safely stretch, increase flexibility and grow stronger.  It also works on developing and maintaining balance – something we can regain with practice. This program is for beginners as well as those who have been practicing yoga.

Yoga instructor Karen Kreisler is a certified Meditation, Yoga Health & Wellness Instructor. She has been teaching yoga and meditation for 9 years. She has been living in Florida for the past four years. For the past two years she taught at the Morgan Center in North Port and several country clubs in Southwest Florida. She taught for years in Richmond, VA at the Brandermill Community Center. She believes that the combination of movement of the body, breathing and calming the mind provide amazing health benefits. 

Students are directed to bring their own mats and, if desired, props such as blocks, straps, support pillows, etc.  They are asked to wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement through the poses (asanas).  Registration is required.
