January 10 - Musical Performance: The Orfeo Duo Leonid Shukaev and Julie Bees form the Orfeo Duo of the Orfeo Trio, which has performed concerts in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Cellist Leonid Shukaev is a founding member of the St. Petersburg String Quartet. He served on the faculties at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, Oberlin and is presently at Wichita State University. Julie Bees is a Professor of Piano and Director of the Konrad Wolff-Ilse Bing Chamber Music Endowment Awards. Both artists have performed extensively in major halls around the world.
