Enjoy this in-costume portrayal of Martha Hartman, the founder of the Petticoat Painters, who tells the story of the development of Sarasota County as an arts colony, creating the “Cultural Coast of Florida”. Martha and her husband William founded the Hartman School of Art in 1951, and Martha founded the Petticoat Painters in 1953, and it is the oldest continuously exhibiting women’s art group in the United States.
