Meet other coders and work on your coding project. Share with others and troubleshoot as a team. Led by Levi Szantosi whose top picks are Python, Scratch, and Unreal Engine.

Be a part of interactive demonstrations of scientific principles presented by Sub Zero. Learn STEM based concepts through the use of liquid nitrogen and sample the delicious flash-frozen ice cream results. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Ages 5 and up. Work on your own creations or build as a team. We provide the LEGOs, you provide the imagination. Creations will be on display in the youth area for one week following the programs.

Children are invited to read with certified pet therapy dogs from the Suncoast Humane Society Pet Therapy Team. This program encourages conversation and develops reading and communication skills.

Using elements of collage, acrylic painting, drawing, printmaking, and typography, teens will design and make their own book for sketching, journaling, writing, collaging, and collecting; use to be determined by the creator.

On the first Thursday of each month, the Old Miakka Schoolhouse hosts a community potluck dinner. Never to disappoint, the Pop-Up brings a dish of new reads and library services!

This month we will be reading and discussing "The Twilight Garden" by Sara Nisha Adams.

Principal cellist of the Sarasota Orchestra, Natalie Helm, presents an exquisite program with music written by composers who died too young including Lili Boulanger, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and William Hurlstone.
