Purpose of Meeting
"Volunteer" is a book about a man of great courage. Captain Witold Pilecki volunteered to go to Auschwitz to organize resistance and relay information to the outside world. Jack Fairweather, the book's author, is a former British war journalist. "Volunteer" received the Costa Award, for book of the year in Britain.
Polish American Friends of the Arts and Sciences promotes a better understanding of Central Eastern Europe, its history, culture, science, and economy through "The Other Europe" series of events. This would be our first event in Venice, previous once have been held at the Selby in Sarasota.
