Program Description

Introduction:

Wander & Wonder: Standup Travel Tales is a live storytelling event where participants share personal tales of their most memorable travel experiences.

The purpose of this event is to celebrate story and be supportive of storytellers no matter their experience level.

Storytellers will have 5 minutes for their stories — whether it's a hilarious mishap, a surprising encounter, or a memorable journey.

There are 10 slots available for storytellers, and the order of the storytellers will be decided by drawing names from a hat.

Storytellers must register to reserve their spot.

Registration is only for storytellers. You do not need to register to attend as a supporter/audience member.

Ground Rules:

  • Stories can be silly or serious, and storytellers can be newbies or veterans to the art form
  • Stories must be true and from the teller’s own life
  • Stories may be written down or told from memory
  • Stories may not exceed five minutes
  • Stories may not contain threatening, harassing, obscene, racist, homophobic, or defamatory speech
  • Audience members are present to show support and will refrain from commenting and talking while stories are being shared
  • Recording is not allowed (with the exception being a storyteller recording their own story)
