Did you know you can feed worms your kitchen vegetable scraps and they will turn it into rich, nutrient dense black compost gold?

UF/IFAS Extension Agent: Randy Penn, Sarasota County Extension, is hosting the workshop on how to compost with WORMS!

Participants will learn the following:

  • What is vermicompost?
  • The benefits of worm composting and recycling food waste
  • How to build a worm bin
  • How to take care of a worm bin
  • Vermicomposting real-life examples

This 90-minute workshop blends indoor lessons with outdoor, hands-on activities in a compost demonstration area, and includes live demonstrations on the correct way to start composting food.
