Australia is home to both incredible wild spaces and large, vibrant cities. Once a British colony of exiled convicts, Sydney has grown into Australia's most diverse and cosmopolitan city and features the iconic Opera House, sparkling beaches and one of the most beautiful bays in the world. The Daintree Rainforest is 180 million years old, holds 13 of the world's 19 primitive flowering plant species, and is one of the most complex tropical rainforest ecosystems that we know of. The Noosa Everglades are one of only two everglades systems that exist and have some similarities to our own Florida Everglades. The Great Barrier Reef contains the world's largest collection of coral reefs and is the only living thing on Earth that can be seen from space. Learn about all these locations and more in this travelogue by Jane Mahler!
