Program Description
Music has helped shape Florida’s cultural identity for generations. Join Meg Lepak of the Sarasota County History Center for an illustrated presentation exploring Florida’s musical history, with special spotlights on Sarasota’s unique contributions. The program will feature historic recordings from the Florida Memory audio collections, including folk, bluegrass, and other traditional sounds.
When available, examples of Sarasota sheet music will be brought to life through brief live performances by Jesse Martins of the Sarasota Opera. Discover how these songs captured Florida's spirit — and continue to echo in our community today. Registration required.
