NASA Ambassador Linda McKenna will have a special guest presenter to discuss archaeology!
Dr. Sam Stein and Mili Rajic are archaeologists in England with over 45 years of experience between them. But worry not! They are nowhere near as old as the things they like to dig up!
Join us as these two archaeologists explain the basics of archaeology, the tools they regularly use, what working in archaeology and history in England is like, and unlock the secrets of soil and sediment. Finally, delve into the mystery of one of England’s long lost castles, where Mary Queen of Scots herself was locked up before her beheading.
Dr. Samantha Stein is a geoarchaeologist, which means she looks at soils and sediments to understand the relationships between geology and archaeology, or how people relate to the landscape they live in. When she is not drilling holes in the ground, she is a TV researcher, working on programs for NOVA/PBS, History Channel, Discovery Channel, and Netflix.
Mili Rajic is an archaeological project manager at Wessex Archaeology in Sheffield England. She oversees major archaeological projects of all ages, from the Stone Age to the Industrial Revolution. She is currently digging up a Roman settlement that was built over a prehistoric farm. Mili also just wrote a comic book based on one of the steel factory sites she just dug up.
