“Music hath charms to soothe a savage breast” (William Congreve) The above quotation may sound a little archaic, but it points to a truth: Music can help us through some troubling times. Carey Chaney, a library employee at Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Public Library, is also a professional musician and songwriter. This segment features two of Carey’s original compositions: “Hope Street” and “When I Was Young.” We hope you like what you hear, are comforted by the music, and find this segment worthwhile.
