Join The Sarasota Players as they explore the concept of "art imitating life" by examining the graphic novel format through the lens of Fun Home, the Tony Award-winning musical based on Alison Bechdel's graphic memoir. We'll discuss how the musical adapts elements of Bechdel's art style and storytelling, and how graphic novels. like Fun Home, use visuals and narrative to reflect personal experiences and deeper societal themes.
The class will allow patrons to take a moment in their lives and create their own mini-graphic novel with the possibility of performance from the cast of The Players' Fun Home!
