Today we'll discuss the book: "The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder" by David Grann (2023)
"The Wager" is a true survival story of thirty men from His Majesty's Ship the Wager, which wrecked while chasing a Spanish treasure galleon in 1742. After months on a deserted island, they crafted a vessel and sailed nearly 3,000 miles to Brazil, initially celebrated as heroes. Six months later, three castaways reached Chile with a conflicting story of mutiny and treachery, leading to serious consequences for the accused.
