Join Stephenie Frasher as we journey through the rich history of Florida’s development, uncovering the roots that shaped the vibrant and culturally rich Sarasota we know today.

From the 1930s to the 1970s, Sarasota flourished as a nationally recognized art colony. Visionary painters and sculptors from across the country made their homes and studios here, leaving a lasting legacy. Their influence shaped Sarasota’s identity, introducing major twentieth-century artistic styles and making a profound impact on the local and national art scene.

This event is offered as part of the One Book Sarasota programming, which chose “All the Beauty in the World” by Patrick Bringley as its 2026 selection. Read the Book, Join the Discussion, Share the Story. Learn more at SarasotaCountyLibraries.org/OneBook.
