The world knows Harriet Beecher Stowe as the internationally famous author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin. What is not so well known is that Mrs. Stowe was a resident of post-Civil War Florida and an enthusiastic promoter of the state, encouraging northerners to experience the benefits of the Florida “lifestyle.” Please join author and editor Liz Coursen as she explores the life and historic milieu of Harriet Beecher Stowe, including the strange, sad story of why Mrs. Stowe came to Florida in the first place.
For adults. First come. first seated.
