Teens and Tweens: Come to the North Port Library to get up close and personal with "Bugs & Butterflies"!
Join IFAS Program Specialist, Wilma Holley as we explore the excitement of "Bugs & Butterflies".
Everyone knows butterflies, but there are an estimated 12,000 insect species in Florida. Insects are an amazing and important part of the ecosystem - they are pollinators, predators, decomposers, and detritivores. While most insects are 'good bugs', only 1% are truly problematic pests that either cause us physical harm (ant bites, wasp sting) or do damage to our landscape. We’ll explore and show some different insects and wrap it up with a make your own insect activity.
