Artists in the Libraries for Children & Tweens: Freeform mixed art and weaving

Students ages 5 - 12 will pick a pre-cut organic shapes made from cardboard with a pre-cut hole in it for weaving.  They will decorate the whole surface with bright colors, patterns, doodles, etc using pencils, oil pastels, paint markers, and more.  Once they are done coloring students  will pick a yard color and learn to create the base for a circle weaving. Yarns of various types, colors, and weights will be available for students to weave.  They will then create a small circular weaving within their painting.  Students will work in teams of four helping each other and sharing supplies.
