Two of America's most famous Abstract Expressionists, Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning, were both successful and active painters in the New York art scene in the mid-20th century. They were colleagues and rivals, sharing an art movement, struggles with alcohol and fame, and even love interests throughout their respective careers.
