The Sarasota Music Archive presents The Art of Piano Playing Summer Series: Insightful Commentary and Performances by Professional Pianists

June 17 - Monumental Beethoven with pianists Tom Purviance and Joseph Holt. Celebrate Beethoven’s 250th anniversary with insights and performances of two major Beethoven piano sonatas.

July 8 - Avis and Aaron Romm of the internationally-known Romm family will perform their March program for trumpet and piano. Also featured, will be an adaptation of a Vivaldi work for trumpet, violin, and piano with violinist, Ms. Shin.

August 19 -  Two members of the Orfeo trio, who performed last January on the John Goodman Series will perform two works of Beethoven. Pianist Julie Bees will play a late Beethoven sonata and cellist Leonid Shukaev will perform a set of variations for cello and piano of Beethoven.

September 30 - The Checkered Career of the Versatile Pianist with Sylvia Eckes, Lee Ross, Gail Ofterdinger-Ledgister and other Professional Pianists.  A panel discussion of various professional jobs pianists do throughout their careers.
