Program Description
Details
Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas' eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs), and dramatic landscapes that consist mostly of steep and high mountains crisscrossed by a network of rivers which form deep valleys. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger's Nest) clings to the cliffs above the forested Paro Valley. Only open to tourists since the 1970s, Bhutan measures GNH (Gross National Happiness) Values instead of GDP. It is also known for having the two most dangerous airports in the world for landing or takeoff. Join us for a step back in time but also a step into the future to the first carbon-negative country in the world.
