Travelogue - Dalmatian Coast with Jane Mahler

The Ancient and Classical Antiquity of the Dalmatian Coast:  Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, and Bosnia & Herzegovina as experienced by Jane Mahler.  This session will explore travels in the countries that used to be Yugoslavia.  We take a scenic tour of medieval villages, the Dinaric Alps along the Adriatic coastline, learn more about Croatia’s most famous artist, visit a 145-year-old interfaith cemetery, and learn about the impact of the 1992-1995 Bosnian war on this area of the world.

Jane Mahler has been an enthusiastic traveler for most of her life and lived overseas for seven years.  To quote Mark Twain, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.”  She retired after 24 years with Sarasota County School District, working in finance and federal grant management.  She was co-chair of the Travel Committee for the Singles on the Go travel club and enjoys working in her garden and hosting dinner parties with friends between trips.
