Program Description

Junk journaling is a creative hobby where you make a handmade journal from recycled and repurposed materials, such as old books, magazines, and scraps of paper, and fill it with your thoughts, memories, photos, and collected ephemera, such as ticket stubs, postcards, and/or receipts. It combines scrapbooking, art journaling, and traditional journaling into a free-form expression of personal creativity, allowing for flexibility, experimentation, and the beauty of imperfect, "found" materials.

In this workshop, teens will get the opportunity to create their own junk journals, from the cover to cover and all pages in between. Whether you're brand new to junk journaling or have been working on your own unique junk journal for some time, this program will allow you to individualize your journal till it overflows with materials and memories!

Follow-up junk journaling sessions will be held in November and December. If attending this October session, attendance to the follow-up sessions is encouraged but entirely optional.

Registration required. For ages 12-18 only.
