Program Description

Details

This summer, our NASA programs will focus on Tales of Tails in science. Our community has really enjoyed learning about Perseverance, and they have asked for more tales of Perseverance and Ingenuity!

Presenters: Michael Hecht from MIT, Principal Investigator for the MOXIE technology onboard the Perseverance rover

Could we someday send an astronaut to Mars, and create enough liquid oxygen to lift off the surface of Mars for their ride home? Mr. Hecht will explain how Ingenuity and Perseverance are testing to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen while on Mars.

MOXIE works ”Like a tree breathes” to create oxygen on Mars.

This program is a hybrid event! Our guest presenter will be virtual (Zoom), and attendees are welcome in person so we can watch together on the big screen!
