All participants and attendees must follow Sarasota County Library Rules of Conduct and Facility Rules while on the premises.

Food will be allowed in the Library during the event EXCEPT in posted NO FOOD areas. Please clean up after yourselves!

The library limits the total size of personal items brought in to the building to 24" wide by 16" high by 10" deep with the exception of necessary human conveyances. For the event, Cosplay props and costumes are also exempt. Please see cosplay rules below.

Cosplay is NOT consent! Harassment will not be tolerated. Any harassment should be reported immediately to library staff. Always ask before taking pictures of a cosplayer or posing with a cosplayer in the background.

The library will be open for event participants only. Regular library services (computers, picking up holds, checking out items, etc.) will not be available.
Cosplay Rules:

This is an all-ages event. Cosplay should be appropriate for all-ages.

All prop weapons must be checked and approved at the Prop Check Table at the library entrance. Selby Public Library staff reserves the right to deny entry to any prop weapon.

The following are strictly prohibited as part of your costume:

Real weapons, even if they are no longer functioning or sharp

Sharp-edged or metal weapons
-
Airsoft, paintball, or BB/pellet weapons

Metal or wooden baseball bats or clubs
-
Aerosol sprays, projectiles of any kind (including nerf darts), and pyrotechnics of any kind

All toy or model guns must be clearly marked with orange on the barrel.

Large foam, cardboard, and plastic props are allowed.

Inappropriate use of otherwise allowable props or weapons will result in the weapon or prop being removed from the con.

Live animals are not props. Please leave your pets at home. Service animals are welcome.

Costumes must not be see-through or have deep plunging necklines. Any allusions to nudity are strictly prohibited as well.

Footwear is required and includes shoes, boots, or slippers; socks are not considered footwear. Even if your character does not wear shoes, all participants must wear footwear.

Selby Public Library staff has the final say on whether a cosplay or costume is appropriate.
