Program Description

Details

Our sun is a star. We live in its atmosphere and it is very active. Unlike Vegas, everything that happens on the sun, does NOT stay on the sun. These solar events, called solar weather, can affect us here on Earth and can be harmful for our planet.

NASA Solar Week is a weeklong event to celebrate the life-giving energy and tremendous power of our amazing sun. Please join NASA Solar System Ambassadors Linda McKenna and Mark Brown as they discuss our sun and its effects on the Earth in recognition of Solar Week. If the weather cooperates, Mark will get out his telescope to show us live images of the sun!
