Join award-winning Sarasota author and historian Liz Coursen for this fast-paced, thought-provoking lecture that will show that when it came to segregation of the races, Florida was as Deep South as Deep South got. "Shade in the Sunshine State" will celebrate the progress that has been made, both here in Florida and across the country, while illustrating how much more still needs to be done.
