Program Description
The Sarasota Music Archive presents a JAZZ HAPPY HOUR series: This week-The Jazz All-Stars, "The Art of Jazz Improvisation"
Join bandmaster Jack Berry as he assembles some of the best Jazz players in the area for an exhilarating foray into the art of Jazz improvisation. Using the tools of the trade: saxophone, vibes, piano, trumpet, bass, vocals, guitar, and more - the combo weaves its way through the jazz landscape, all the while planning the route as they go along....
About Jack Berry: Jack began playing the upright bass in 2013 after joining the Pine View High School Jazz Band under the direction of jazz trumpet player Victor Mongillo, where he received the prestigious Louis Armstrong Award for Jazz Excellence. Since then, Jack has toured & recorded throughout the US & Canada with a variety of artists/genres, performing on CNN, and in Times Square with his sustainability edutainment band ‘The Garbage-Men’. Jack also performed at the Montréal International Jazz Festival in 2018 with Grammy nominated artist, the late Bryan Lee.
