A Florida History Lecture Series Fall 2024 "Overcoming Obstacles" Program

Program held from 2PM - 3PM

About This Lecture

Incorporating native plants into our ecosphere and personal landscape has seen a resurgence in interest in recent years, but where did it all start and why is the uptick in interest important? Join native plant specialist and educator Pamela Callender as she tracks our connection to native plants throughout history, dispels landscape design myths, and shares her artistic process for adding native plants to your landscape and highlights why your yard matters.

About This Series

Florida is widely imagined as a sunny paradise where every day is either a thrilling adventure or a relaxing vacation. Like any place, however, Florida has had tough moments requiring its people to face all sorts of challenges. This fall, join the staff of the Sarasota County History Center and special guests as we explore how Floridians navigated some of these historic episodes.
