Dive into the world of publishing with author Kristin Owens! If you've ever considered publishing a book, there are many variables to consider. Costs, time, and maintaining control over the process, are critical elements in decision-making. But how do you decide which publishing path to choose, when you don't have answers? Every writer has their own set of must-haves and non-negotiables, so it's vital to educate yourself before you start.

This straight-forward session will:

  • Cover traditional, hybrid, and self-publishing options
  • Outline the pros and cons of each (including actual costs)
  • Offer advice from published authors on what they enjoyed and wished they knew more about beforehand
  • Discuss the importance of identifying goals and audience

At the end, participants will determine which option is the best fit not only for their work, but to meet their expectations.

Kristin Owens is a contributor for award-winning magazines such as Wine Enthusiast and 5280. Her debut novel, "Elizabeth Sails" was published in October 2024 with Rising Action Publishing Co.
