Poet Laura Shoemaker leads a workshop in creating poetry as a form of activism. 

Laura has worked in higher ed, educational publishing and editing, and nonprofit administration. Her passion for writing and equity led to her involvement with organizations and programs that support global health research, science and the environment, vaccine development, writing centers, and the arts, history, and social issues. 

As of Fall 2022, Laura joined USF as a visiting professor. She previously taught undergraduate writing courses at Ringling College of Art and Design, the State College of Florida, and the University of Washington.
