Program Description

Details

Learn about coastal maritime history with Dave Bernheisel.  He will share the process that the Overfalls Foundation went through to restore the Overfalls Lightship. A lightship is a floating lighthouse. It had all the features of a lighthouse and served as an aid to navigation to guide mariners to safe harbor.   Lightships were stationed in 118 different locations around all three U. S. coasts and the Great Lakes. The Overfalls Lightship has been designated as a National Historical Landmark and is located in historic downtown Lewes, Delaware.

Seating is available on a first come first served basis and will be permitted 15 minutes prior to the program start time.
