Have you wondered what’s it like to have been a Mayor?

Have you wondered what’s it like to be a member of a County Commissioners Board?

Have you wondered or been curious about what it was like to grow up in Sarasota?

Well, now’s your chance! Don’t judge a book by its cover, have a private 20-minute discussion with former City of Sarasota Mayor and Commissioner Carolyn Mason to discover the whole story!

Carolyn J. Mason, a Sarasota native, served eight years on the Sarasota Board of County Commissioners and retired in November 2016. She was elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2012 with no opposition. Mason is also a former City of Sarasota Mayor and Commissioner. The mother of three, grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of six is currently self-employed and a community volunteer.

This Living Library program is based on similar “people check-out” programs at libraries worldwide. More often than not, you’ll discover we have more in common than we thought.
