Oceanview Publishing will be at Selby Library talking all about mysteries! Oceanview is an independent book publisher specializing in the best in mystery, thrillers, and suspense. Founding partners Bob and Pat Gussin are recipients of the International Thriller Writers Thriller Legend Award, and they will be in attendance with authors Don Bruns, Susan Klaus, and Ward Larsen to discuss this exciting genre.

Bob Gussin never let his Ph.D. and position as the Chief Scientific Officer of Johnson and Johnson stand in the way of his passion for fiction—specifically mysteries and thrillers and suspense. So as soon as he retired, he and his wife, Patricia Gussin, started Oceanview Publishing, where since 2006 they have been publishing exceptional authors in that genre.

Pat Gussin is a physician and medical researcher—turned fiction writer and editor and publisher.  She’s a USA Today and New York Times best-selling author. Her greatest pride is the discovery of a fantastic thriller/mystery/suspense writer.

USA Today best-selling author Don Bruns is a musician and songwriter, a painter,a cook, an advertising guru, a traveler, and a stand-up comic. He is the award-winning author of three mystery series, including The Music Series featuring Mick Sever. His Stuff Series showcases the unstoppable yet bumbling young private investigators, Skip Moore and James Lessor, and his Quentin Archer series, which is set in New Orleans. Don and his wife, Linda, live in Sarasota, Florida.

Susan Klaus, a native of Sarasota, Florida, has a long and extensive history of working with animals. She’s managed and co-owned a horse farm, breeding and racing thoroughbreds for the past thirteen years and is currently raising rodeo bulls. Klaus is the author of four sci-fi novels and is the host and co-producer of Author’s Connection a radio show with listeners in 148 countries. Secretariat Reborn, Klaus’s first thriller novel, reflects the expertise of her personal immersion in the world of thoroughbred breeding and racing. Shark Fin Soup is Klaus’s second thriller in the Christian Roberts series following the highly successful Secretariat Reborn. She lives in Myakka City, Florida, on her forty acre farm.

Ward Larsen is an award-winning author whose debut novel, "The Perfect Assassin," garnered numerous awards and accolades, including top honors in the Royal Palm Literary Awards, the Gold Medal in the Military Writers Society of America Book Awards, the Silver Medal in the Florida Book of the Year Awards, and the Silver Medal in the ForeWord Book of the Year Awards. "The Perfect Assassin" was also named an award-winning finalist in the National Best Books 2006 Awards, as well as the 2006 Indie Excellence Awards. Born and raised in South Florida. Larsen graduated from the University of Central Florida. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served seven years as a pilot in the 95th and 75th Fighter Squadrons. Ward traveled widely across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, and flew 22 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm.
