Program Description
Join Dr. Sarah Cartwright, Chief Curator at the Ringling Museum, for a lecture discussing the Italian painter Juana Romani.
"Born in Italy in 1867, Romani moved to Paris at age 10 and eventually became a successful painter. However, she was nearly forgotten by the time of her death in 1923". Dr. Cartwright's lecture will include details on the life and works of Romani as well as provide further insight on her painting "Woman on a Red Background". The Ringling Museum of Art currently has this piece on display in their gallery.
This lecture is provided via the Sarasota Italian Cultural Events (SICE) organization.
