Program Description

Ise-Shima is a land steeped in spiritual heritage and natural beauty. Long revered as the “home of the gods,” it is most famous for the Ise Jingu, Japan’s most sacred Shinto site. The region is also defined by its dramatic rias coastline — a unique geological formation of intricate inlets and jagged bays shaped over time by the sea. Kyoto is the ancient capital that flourished for over a thousand years, renowned for its rich heritage and refined cultural traditions. In Kyoto we visit well-known artists in the world of textile, pottery and calligraphy, and enjoy the magnificent ancient artwork created by renowned sculptures in the temples and shrines.
