Join us as Prof. Frank Cassell presents this 3-part series focusing on Bertha Palmer and her influence.

Dr. Cassell is Professor Emeritus and President Emeritus at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. He has published books on Bertha Palmer in Florida, and on the creation of Sarasota County.

Bertha Honoré Palmer rose to fame as the President of the Board of Lady Managers of the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893.  Already the social queen of Chicago, her success in promoting women’s interests and accomplishments in that fair gave her international celebrity.
