Program Description

Details

On 30 January, 1933, a few minutes after noon, Adolf Hitler was escorted into the office of Reich President von Hindenburg and formally named Chancellor of the German Republic, his first step on the road to absolute power.

Please join David Carlson of the History Club as he explores how Hitler, within an unprecedented span of two years, was able to crush dissent within Germany, secure the loyalty of the army, and amass enough power to lay the foundations of an all-pervasive police state, all with very little organized resistance.
