Nancy Johnson will present a training session with many tips on how to start your genealogy research successfully. In addition to the presentation Nancy will provide an in-depth handout with tips on the best genealogy websites, libraries, other historical/genealogical sites, etc. Nancy is the President of the Genealogical Society of Sarasota (2012-present). She has been doing her family genealogy for 24 years and proven direct lineage to the Mayflower Society, Colonial Dames of the 17th C. Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (at least 8 patriots), War of 1812 Society, and the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War Society. In addition she has proven direct lineage to a French soldier, Guarin Maule, who fought with William the Conqueror in 1066.
Nancy has traveled often to genealogy libraries, historical societies, etc., in the pursuit of her forefathers and mothers. Nancy's education and career as a pharmaceutical executive encompassed in-depth market research, as did her two Master's Degrees (Spanish Literature and an MBA). The lecture is free.
