Program Description
The Civil War is one of the defining moments in American history, yet Florida's role in the conflict is largely forgotten. Holding little strategic importance for either side, the state nonetheless contributed men and material to the Confederate war effort and was the site of two battles in 1864 and 1865. Join Charlotte County Historian Dr. Jennifer Zoebelein for a presentation on the history of Florida during the Civil War era and its impact on the state's development after 1865.
