In this 90-minute workshop, you will learn more about the body systems involved in balance:
- Musculoskeletal: review the physical components involved in balance and learn how to progressively challenge your balance.
- Sensory: Your senses provide valuable information to the brain about your balance
- Vision: Vison is a skill and like all skills, it can improve with practice. Learn how your eyes are directly connected to brain activation and practice several ways to train your visual system for better balance and mobility
- Vestibular: The inner ear system is your neural equilibrium center and similar to all body systems, you must use it, or you will lose it. Learn how to gently activate the system that tells your brain which end is up and which way you’re going,
- Proprioception: Billions of sensory receptors contribute to the brain’s 3-dimensional map of the body. Learn how to improve your body map for better movement.
- Walking Gait: Who taught you how to walk? Learn about the proper walking gait and how to stop safely.
