Has the gardening bug bitten you? Interest in edible gardening is rising, but Floridians have one pesky problem. This isn't the peak season to plant popular crops like lettuce, tomato, and broccoli. So what do you do?

Adapt. By planting the right plant in the right place at the right season, you're more likely to experience a successful harvest. This webinar will provide tips for summer success and provide information on seven specific crops you can plant now: sweet potato, watermelon, eggplant, cherry tomato, cucumber, peanut, and seminole pumpkin. This webinar is taught by long-time gardeners that have successfully grown edible crops in Florida for many years.

UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County provides practical education you can trust, to help people, businesses and communities solve problems, develop skills and build a better future. This service is a partnership between the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS), the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Sarasota County.
