Program Description

Details

Florida is the #1 state in the US with the largest population of insect species. A large percentage of those insects are 'good bugs', but how do you tell the difference? Join us for an hour long presentation on common insects in the landscape where we'll discuss the pesty problem insects as well as the good guys (beneficial insects). We will also touch on integrated pest managment (IPM) and how following IPM methods can help support a healthy environment without the use of harsh pesticides.

UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County provides practical education you can trust, to help people, businesses and communities solve problems, develop skills and build a better future. This service is a partnership between the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS), the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Sarasota County.
