Program Description
Details
Giving Tree Music provides drums to participants for active guided playing as they learn about the history and cultural importance of African music and drumming circles. Families and all ages enjoy beating the drums together with traditional rhythms in a big circle. Individuals are periodically invited to join the instructor in leading special short rhythm sequences for the group to imitate, which is a favorite activity among children.
This is part of our One Book One Community program, whose selection for 2022 was “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind” by William Kamkwamba.
