Program Description

Details

This class is an introduction to genealogy for tweens and teens, ages 9-18.  We will cover the basic concepts of how a pedigree family tree is organized, how to begin researching, and how to verify information for accuracy. Though we won't be actively creating family trees in this course, students will likely have some time at the end of class to begin their own research. For this reason, it is suggested that each student come with the basic information about a relative (or relatives) they'd like to research. This class is a required in order to take future, higher level genealogy classes.  Parents or caregivers are encouraged to participate.
