Join us for the annual pop culture convention at Selby Library, SRQCon!
Activities will be held throughout the library including a scavenger hunt, button making, and more. Vendors are located on both floors of the library selling art, comics, toys, merch, and more!
Scheduled events are as follows!
11 a.m.- 1 p.m. in the Teen Room: Video gaming tournaments (ages 6+)
11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. in the Jack Geldbart Auditorium: Bat City Comic Workshop (ages 8+)
11:15 a.m.- 12:15 p.m. in the Youth Program Room: Decorate a handheld fan (ages 3+)
11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Conference Room: Kristen Owens writing workshop (ages 9+)
12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Retro Wreck Room: Illustrator Talk with Ringling Professor, Oliver Dominguez (ages 6+)
1 - 2 p.m. in the Jack Geldbart Auditorium: Cosplay Contest (sign up before 12:30- all ages)
2 - 4 p.m. in the Retro Wreck Room: Upside Down Photo Booth with Music, Ping Pong, Corn Hole, VR*, and more (ages 10+)
2 - 4 p.m. in the Creation Station: Fandom Beaded Bracelets (ages 6+)
2 -3 p.m. in the Youth Program room: Watercolor Parasols (ages 3+)
2:15 - 3:15 p.m. in the Conference Room: Cosplay Workshop (ages 8+)
3 - 4 p.m. in the Jack Geldbart Auditorium: Drawing with Dean (ages 8+)
All day in the youth area: Coloring and drop-in crafts (ages 3+)
All day in the Teen Room: Button making (ages 5+)
All day in the whole library: Adventure Hunt (ages 8+ -- may need adult assistance if younger)
Food Trucks: Songbird Sweets and Nunn Better BBQ
* Listed ages are recommendations and up to parents' discretion. VR headsets do not fit smaller children.
All events are free except food from food trucks.
