About This Lecture

Do you know where Mosquito County, Florida is located? We’ll forgive you if you don’t, since it disappeared from the map about 180 years ago. But it WAS a real county, as were several other Florida counties that are no longer with us today. Join Dr. Josh Goodman, manager of the Sarasota County History Center, as we turn back the clock to go in search of some of Florida’s “lost” counties and the fascinating stories behind their creation and their eventual demise.
