Comets: A Love Story 

This presentation revolves around a love story: love between a man and a woman, but also the love they shared for exploring the universe. This is a story of comets, craters, outer space and a man and woman who studied them....just in time for Valentine’s Day! 

This is the story of Carolyn Spellman who met her future husband, Eugene Shoemaker, in 1950. The two had a long-lasting marriage, raised a family, and became science astronomy partners.  Together they discovered many comets, one which is named after them.
