Centennial Programming - "Our Voices Count: Women and the Right to Vote in Sarasota County" - Lindsay Ogles, Historical Resources' Collections Curator

In 1920, women gained the right to vote for the first time and the women of present-day Sarasota County stepped up to exercise their newfound right. From stepping out of traditional gender roles to deciding the fate of the proposed Sarasota County, women voters made a big difference in our local history. Join Historical Resources’ Collections Curator, Lindsay Ogles, to learn more about our county’s early women voters and the election processes of 1920 Florida.
